When?
Auditions are every Tuesday at 4pm sharp (except major holidays) and can last up until 6:30PM - so be prepared to spend up to two and half hours with us. We also ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to find parking and sign in. Please click here to email us your name along with the date you wish to audition. Please note: We will NOT call or Email you back so consider yourself confirmed and Please Just Show Up at 3:50pm on the Date you requested. It's that simple.
What Should I Bring?
Please bring at least two (2) headshots, with resumes already attached to the back.
What to Do?
Please sign in when you arrive, and we will be with you as soon as possible. We will take your picture and resume, and after a brief introduction, will pair you up with another actor who is auditioning and give you 2 scenes to work on: a comedy and a drama. You will have a limited amount of time (20 -25 minutes), which approximates the preparation time in a typical workshop. You will also have a brief interview before you start your scenes.
What Are We Looking For?
Professionalism and a positive attitude rate really high with us.
Keep your reading simple and real. We are looking for good, solid acting and cold reading skills, including the ability to quickly understand the scene and the character, get off the page and relate to your partner. We are also looking at your ability to understand and take an adjustment or "redirect". We evaluate each actor individually, so don't worry about the other actor. Make strong choices and commit to them.
The Assessment
If accepted, you will be told at the end at the audition. If you did not pass the audition, if desired you will be given specifics as to why, and what you can work on so that you can return in the future. If you do pass, you will then be given an orientation on our policies and procedures, our upcoming calendar, and how to get started. Any questions will be answered at that time.
Have Fun With It!
All of us at The Casting Network are working actors, and we do our best to respect you and your time. We know what auditions can be like and sincerely try to make the process pleasant for all concerned.
