Why Cold Reading Workshops- semi cold readings done in front of a full audience of other actors and participatory guests, whether the reads are done in pairs or one-on-one with a skilled reader, afford greater level of training by preparing you for a producers session with a full room of strangers; well beyond what prepared reads in an isolated environment with a casting director allows.

Auditions for new members are held on posted audition dates below. PLEASE ARRIVE 10 MINUTES EARLY to find parking and SECURE YOUR SPOT. Please be prepared to spend up to 2 hours with us.

How do I RSVP to audition?

What Should I Bring?
Please bring at least two (2) headshots, with resumes cut to size and already attached to the back.
What is the audition like?
To give you a preview, the audition process is handled very much like one of our workshops. The audition workshop will be run by a seasoned professional, highly qualified to redirect and assess your work. When you arrive, you’ll sign in and give us your picture & resume. After a brief introduction, we’ll pair you up with another actor and give you material to prepare. You’ll have a limited amount of time (10-20 minutes) to prep, approximating the preparation time in a typical cold-reading workshop. You and your partner will audition in front of the whole class and observe all other auditioning actors.
What Are We Looking For?
Professionalism and a positive attitude rate really high with us. Keep your reading simple and real. We’re looking for solid acting and cold-reading skills, including the ability to make strong choices and relate to your partner. We also assess how you respond to any redirects you are given. Though you’ll be paired, each actor is evaluated individually, and we are equally receptive to all types.
When will I know how I did?
Invitations for membership will be offered at the end of the audition workshop. If you are not invited for membership, please feel free to ask for pointers on what you can work on for when you return in the future. If you are invited for membership, you will be asked to stay for an orientation acquainting you with how to create your own profile with us, access our calendar, and take full advantage of our free website.
